Hafencity Private Appartement
Hamburg’s Hafen-City is an urban district with an exciting mix of residents. The private apartment as a bar was the wish and offers retreat as well as representation in a very personal atmosphere.

Studio Istland was asked to furnish an apartment as an inviting and modern bar and to design the space in such a way that it could be used as a personal retreat as well as a meeting place. The client is a regular customer at Kinfelts Kitchen & Wine and wanted to bring the atmosphere of the restaurant into his apartment. Mustard tones and warm clay colors with wooden surfaces of oak and ash are staged in a modern way. Natural fabrics such as linen, wool, silk and cashmere are accentuated with a hand-knotted Supernova rug and various design classics. The custom-made furniture such as the bar, room divider and pantry give the room its own charm. The personal touch is emphasized by hand lettering of quotes that inspire reflection or laughter.
