Trüffelschwein
The bistro on Hamburg’s Goldbekplatz stands for unique cuisine in an unusual interior design.

Studio Istland redesigned the spatial transformation of the former Michelin-starred restaurant on the basis of Studio Oeding’s corporate design. The bistro concept of the new Trüffelschwein continues to reflect the quality standards of chef Kiril Kinfelt and his wife Jana, but the interior concept shows the passionate hosts in a more personal and striking atmosphere. Every single poster on the walls is part of the chef’s and host couple’s CV, as each one stands for one of the culinary awards they have received over the years. The color concept is clearly based on the color scheme of the truffle and complemented by contemporary color accents.

The bistro design by Studio Istland also shows in the choice of furniture, metal and wood surfaces and lighting that a warm, personal atmosphere is just as important as a short lingering time. The French bistro chairs together with the textile/paper tablecloth and the division of the space into different sections round off the concept.
